Street Farm was a 16th C development of a Hall House - just seen on the right. It is probably a little later than Suffolk House, just round the corner. The two families may have vied with each other to display their prosperity. There are small carvings of human heads on the base of the chimney stack. The remnants of an avenue of trees leading to the church suggests a high status family lliving here. |

The side wing of the house shows evidence of a much earlier open hall house |

During recent restoration a bedroom level exterior door was found. This may have lead to a gallery or stair tower. |

A detail from the top left hand corner shows a Star motif. This often occurs in the house and is often associated with the De Vere''s of Lavenham but so far there is no proof of any any connection |
