Life After All Saints

As well as planning a new solo single, ex-All Saint Mel Blatt looks like collaborating with UK R&B singer,
Omar. Mel was spotted chatting with members of Omar's band at Sunday's Jam In The Park and overheard
discussing work on a Latin inspired duet. Mel arrived at the show with baby Lillyella and looked pleased
to be watching a show as a punter instead of as a performer.

Mel's Driving Ambition

Melanie Blatt of defunct girl band All Saints has been showing off her latest fashion accessory - a custom-
made Louis Vuitton Vespa scooter. The scooter was presented to Blatt at a classic car event at the
Hurlingham Club in London - despite the fact that Blatt does not have a driving licence. "I'm learning
to drive at the moment and thought I'd start with a scooter," she explained.

24.05.01

Mel Blatt has revealed she is going to try a solo career because she needs the cash. She admits her
motivation is financial: "Like I said I had hoped to retire but I can't afford to. Unfortunately I have to
go back to work to make some money". But it doesn't sound like she's writing hits: "It's not going to
be anything that anybody likes. The stuff that me and Stuart are working on is quite home-grown, quite
organic"

28.03.01

It has been reported that Mel has enlisted the help of Artful Dodger to launch her solo career. Artful Dodger
are one of the most respected Garage acts in the UK, and had a helping hand in bringing Crag David to fame
with their song Rewind. The titled track for the single is called "Twenty Four Seven".

Mel reportedly has asked Shaznay to work on her new solo project but apparently Shaznay
has declined.

The rumours about Mel doing backing vocals on Shaznay's solo album is not true. At the Brit Awards last
month Mel was heard saying that she will be "backing" Shaznay all the way. The press twisted this and
made it sound as if she would be doing backing vocals.

24.03.01

Shaznay Lewis and Mel Blatt have apparently been offered £2,000,000 to pen a tell-all book on life with the
Appleton sisters.

Meanwhile Melanie Blatt is rumoured to have signed a solo recording contract with an independent French
record label. Initial reports suggest Melanie Blatt is considering only releasing her solo material in
France and she is likely to sing in French.
