Key words to keep in mind regarding buying/reading doushinji for you first timer:
Yaoi:
coupling- male x male, can be very graphical. Many can be rated as NC-17.
Shonen
ai: coupling- male x male, not as graphical... emotions are mostly express
through thoughts.
Yuri:
coupling- female x female, so very graphical. Many can be rated as NC-17.
Shojo-ai: coupling- female x female, not as graphical... emotions are mostly express through thoughts.
