Dearest Sasha,
A piece of our hearts was removed today. So many of us have checked the board each day for a 'gume update. Nothing made our hearts rejoice more than to hear that he was having a good day. So many of us also, on hearing disheartening news, would shed a tear for this furry animal that we would never meet or touch. Somehow he became part of so many. He touched lives all over this country (and maybe other continents).
Legume was a special kitty that will NEVER be forgotten! Somehow this special guy found the most special "mom" that he could ever hope to find on the entire planet. No one, BUT no one could have given him the special love, care and treatment that you did. You two were undoubtedly destined for one another.
Why? I don't know. His life was extended thru your gentle, loving care. In fact, what little life he had, would have not happened at all, if not for you. I thank you for sharing him with us. We are in grief with you. Better to have loved 'gume, than to never have known him at all.
I have been following Legume's story for a long time and each time saying a little prayer for you both. It is so hard to say good bye to one of our furbabies-but just know in your heart that you gave that little baby more love and comfort than he would ever have had. He will love you always and he well be saving a special place at the Bridge for you. Legume will always be in your heart...hugs to you and all your furbabies...I know this is a very big loss to all of you.

In Honor Of Legume, a cat has been rescued. A local rescue group has a "sponser-a-cat program". If a person donates the cost of the adoption fee, they rescue a cat from the catch 'em and kill 'em town shelters. They send you a picture and info on the saved cat. So, a cat has been sponsored in Legume's name, and I hope that 'Gumie will be his gardian angel.
********* 'Gumie, you will be missed by so many people who never met you. Sash, my heart breaks for you, but the love, the love we get from them is so great and so putre, it's worth the pain when they must go to wait for us at Rainbow Bridge.
