Chapter 4: He meets some of the women of the city.

From the priests at the temple of Bel, Hiram learned that there was a family in Babylon who were descendants of the former king Seleucus Nicator, he who had ordered the abandonment of the city. He went to see the family, and found them to be poor. There being no work in the city, they made a living where they could. Four of the young women of the family would gather together each day under the arches of Babylon to see what money could be made, and they were well known about the city.
