Abandoned Highrises at Breezy Point

In 1969, just on the West side of Fort Tilden, construction began on an apartment complex that was never completed.
These photos from May of 1973 were taken by Arthur Tress for the Environmental Protection Agency. The buildings stood as abandoned eyesores until they were demolished by explosives in the mid 1980's. The Nike missile IFC radar equipment can be seen between the buildings in two of the photos.
