... so as you can see, Denmark is made up of a lot of islands and a little bit of mainland - connected to Germany - a long time ago controversial issue. The germans occupied Denmark during the second world war and Britain actually bombed Copenhagen.... amazing the Danes really do like the British. The Faroe Islands and Greenland are protectorates of Denmark and although Bornholm (to the east, south of Sweden) is closer to Sweden and the Danish spoken there is very swedish, it still forms part of Denmark!!
The country is very flat (like Holland), but beautifully green!! The cost of half a pint of beer can at the moment be as high as 4 quid in the city centre!! The danes are not great bacon eaters as you might think and the don't think that Carlsberg is the best beer in the world ..... probably!! |
