In Wolf Shadow, there are two boys named Matt and Seth. Seth is 12 years old and is eagerly waiting for his first hunting season. But the first hunting day in his life does not turn out well. Seth and Matt go hunting together, alone. First, Seth slips and his left food lands in the lake: he was in danger of getting frostbite. Second, Matt shoots a wolf, and wolves are an endangered species; Matt thought it was wolves that had killed his precious cow. Seth is outraged that Matt shot the wolf and he leaves Matt alone in a part of the woods that Matt does not know. Seth broke the rule that friends in the woods always stay together, but once he realizes that he should alert Matt's parents that Matt is alone in the wilderness, he does so. Then Seth, Matt's dad and Matt's brothers go to rescue him. Seth must make a choice between friendship with Matt and the law: should he report that Matt shot the wolf? Seth: I think that Seth is a geek and a nature boy. He is a geek because he knows everything and he is just so intelligent. He is a nature boy because he spends practically all of his time in the forest or outside. Matt: I think that Matt is sportive and a little awkward. Matt is sportive because he plays quarter-back in football and that is probably why he gets a lot of phone calls from girls. He is a little awkward because he shoots a wolf. |
