Joey tried everything to get Courtney back. Flowers, candy, teddy bears, balloons, jewellery even a note in the sky saying I love you Courtney but no matter how hard he tried he couldn't get a word in. After a couple of months of avoiding each other Courtney softened up towards him and let him come over her house to talk about what happened, since they never actually did officially break up.

~~*Flashback*~~

"Hey..." Joey said as he stood on Courtney's doorstep.

"Hey...come in." Courtney said, obviously still in pain from what Joey had done to her.

"Sit down." she ordered as he sat down straight away on the couch.

"Courtney...I have to explain what exactly happened. You don't understand! You weren't there for me when I needed you most and I couldn't help it. She was over at your house, we started drinking a little bit of alcohol and we... ya know." Joey said looking down at his hands but then looked up to see her eyes watering again.

"Joey, you've put me in hell these last couple of months. I'm really sorry if I wasn't there when your dick wanted me the most, we coulda talked. I thought we had communication. I guess I was wrong." Courtney said coldly.

"Courtney..." Joey started explaining again but got cut off.

"You have no idea how much you hurt me Joey..." Courtney said her eyes softening up a little when they met with Joey's chocolatey eyes.

"Damnit Courtney! Do you think I don't regret what I did? Don't you think I'm sad about this?" Joey said raising his voice as he stood up.

Courtney didn't expect that kind of reaction from him and to be honest was quite frightened because she hasn't seen this side of him before. She was scared that he would hurt her.

"I didn't say that you didn't know how I felt. I just think we should break up. I need time to think. You REALLY need time to think and I just think it's for the best. Maybe we're just not meant to be together..." Courtney said stuttering a little bit.

"No, no, don't say that. Don't say that Courtney. We can work through this baby. Please...I can't stand to live my life without you." Joey said as he got down on his knees in front of Courtney and grabbed onto her waist, looking up at her.

"I'm sorry Joey. If we're meant to be together we'll meet again in the future." Courtney said as she saw Joey's first tear roll down his cheeks. She couldn't stand seeing him this upset but she needed time to think over the things they went through and see if the relationship is worth saving.

Joey just kinda froze. He couldn't believe what Courtney just told him. They were friends since they were kids. They did EVERYTHING together. They were with each other when Joey got his first bike, got their first tooth, even when they went through puberty they went through everything together.

"I think you need to leave." Courtney said calmly shaking off Joey's hands on her waist as she walked towards the door and opened it.

Joey got up silently and walked towards the door. "Please always know I'll be here waiting for you if you ever change your mind." he said as he left.

~~*End of flashback*~~

That was the last they ever saw each other. Joey tried calling her again but she moved houses and changed her phone number.  'Be strong Joey.' he thought to himself as he sang the last note perfectly and wiped a stray tear that fell down his cheeks.
