After Josh confessed
his feelings to Lance, he sat there silent holding Lance's hand in his own as
he played with the fingers. He didn't know what to do. His mind was buzzing
with so many things he wanted to know. He wanted to ask Lance all these questions,
but this was uncharted territory and he knew that. He knew Lance talking to him
was not supposed to happen, and he wondered what would come of it. What would
Lance talking to him cause?
"Josh, don't
worry about it," Lance whispered.
"How did you
know I was worrying about it?" Josh asked as his fingers stilled.
"Cause I know
you. I've been watching you for awhile now." Lance brought Josh's hand to his lips brushing his lips across
Josh's palm. "I was worried about you."
"Oh," Josh mumbled.
"I don't want to talk about that right now." Josh took his hand from
Lance's and stood. "You wouldn't understand. No one would."
Lance sighed. He had
hoped that Josh would open up to him, but he knew that he would want to talk
eventually. He just hoped that he was there for josh when that time came.
"We don't have to talk about it right now if you don't want to, Josh. Just
know I'm here if you ever want to talk about whatever is troubling
you."
Josh nodded with a
slight smile on his face, as he sat back down. "So what about you?"
Lance chuckled.
"What about me?"
Josh fingered the
collar of Lance's white coat. "What are you for one?"
"I'm an
angel," Lance whispered.
"If you're an
angel, where are your wings? Aren't angels supposed to have wings?"
Lance laughed softly.
"That is just for fiction, you know."
"Oh."Josh
moved closer laying his head on Lance's shoulder. "Have you always been an
angel?"
Lance reached up and
ran his hand through Josh's hair. "I was born an angel. I've never been to
earth as a human."
"Wow, so you
haven't done a lot." Josh looked up and touched Lance's cheek softly.
"Had you ever kissed before?"
"No," Lance
whispered. "I never had anyone I wanted to kiss."
"But you wanted
to kiss me?"
Lance nodded unable
to find the words to speak. He watched as Josh moved closer until he was just
inches from Lance’s face. He finally let his eyes flutter closed as Josh
pressed his lips to his own. He felt Josh stroke his cheek softly, and he
sighed parting his lips. When he felt Josh's tongue touch his own, he gasped
pulling back.
Josh looked up at him
confused for a second before sighing. "I'm sorry."
"No, its okay,
Josh."
Josh shook his head.
"No, it isn't. I'm moving too fast here. I'll just slow down." Josh
looked towards the nightstand. "It's late, and I got to go to work early
tomorrow."
Lance nodded.
"I'll go."
"No, don't. Can
you stay? I like being able to sleep through the night," Josh said with a
smile on his face.
Lance sat silent for
a moment before nodding. He watched as Josh moved towards the bed pulling the
blankets back. "Will you sleep with me, Lance?"
"Okay,"
Lance said as he shrugged off his coat laying it on the back of the chair by
the window. He watched as Josh slid beneath the covers. He shouldn't be
staying. He was going to get in trouble anyway might as well as make it good
while he could.
