Bl.Thomas Whitbread

Born in Essex, England
Educated at Saint Omer
Joined the Society of Jesus in 1635.

He was provincial of the English mission
and at the time of the Popish Plot was convicted with four other Jesuit priests on a false charge of conspiring to murder Charles II. For this he was hanged at Tyburn.

Died 1679;
Beatified in 1929.
