ARMES BRITTON DILLON RAINS The Armes family comes from Moses and Elizabeth (Hammer) Armes. Their daughter Elizabeth married John Rains. My Dillon lines are from Isaac. His daughter Mary B Dillon married Pleasant L Finney. At first I thought it was Isaac and Jemima (Britton) Dillon who were her parents but I have found it was his son. Contact: Jeana
DORRIS WILHITE My name is Joni Todd Litteer, and I am a descendant of Isaac N. Wilhite and Eliza or Ann Dorris, through their daughter, Susie Elizabeth Wilhite Daugherty. I have recently begun searching the WILHITE/DORRIS line, and am trying to prove DORRIS as a maiden name for Isaac Wilhite's second wife. Would you mind checking your DORRIS information to see if you have and Eliza or Ann DORRIS, b. abt. 1851? I have the following information: - death certificate of Susie Wilhite DDaugherty, which states her mother's name was Anna DORRIS - reference from a Wilhite researcher which indicates Isaac's second wife was Eliza DORRIS - information from Susie Wilhite Daughherty's obituary, which states that she was the daughter of "Ann and Isaac Wilhite". - 1920 FCI census indicates a birthdatte of abt. 1851, Tennessee. (Living with son Arthur Wilhite) - Married Isaac Newton Wilhite 1873 orr after, as his youngest child with his first wife (Elizabeth Dearing) was born in 1873. - Not mentioned in the obituary of Isaaac Wilhite (1922). - Not mentioned in the obituary of sonn Charley M. Wilhite (1930) I have looked in the Franklin County and surrounding county Genweb pages, and so far have found no indication of Ann or Eliza DORRIS. I have also checked most of the major online resources, and so far no DORRIS female meets the criteria I have. I have checked the Illinois State Archives Marriage database, and have not found a marriage record for Isaac Wilhite and Eliza or Ann Dorris. This marriage could have occured in Williamson County, and those records are not online. I have many of Carla Pulliam's books for Franklin County, Illinois, and though there are a few mentions of the DORRIS surname, I have yet to tie them to my 2nd great-grandmother, Eliza or Ann DORRIS Wilhite. I need to check more census records, etc. in a library - I haven't been out since I started working on this line, and wondered if you had a DORRIS female that fits in this blank. ROTRAMEL Are the Jefferson County Rotramels related to the Rotramels in Frankfort Twp., in Franklin Co IL? I am descended from David ROTRAMEL b. 1814 in KY, d. 1897 in Opdyke, IL., and (3rd Wife) Mary Ann MYERS, b. 1824 in TN, d. 1913 in Paxton, Ford Co., IL. they married Jan 24, 1847 in Benton, Franklin Co., IL. David ROTRAMEL is the son of Henry ROTRAMEL and Keziah SIMPSON of Logan Co., KY. The parents died in Opdyke, Jefferson Co., IL it is believed. The Parents and David came to Benton, Franklin Co., in 1835. David then went to Jefferson Co., in 1845., David's Cemetery Stone was located at the Opdyke Cemetery in 1972. The Children of David and Mary are: Florence, b. 1848 Walter, b. 1848 Georgia Alice, b. 1850 Zackeriah T., b. 1851 Florida V., b. 1852 Henry Olive, (Female) b. He died 1897 at Opdyke and is buried there. There is significant material on David ROTRAMEL in The History of Jefferson County Illinois, Biographical Section, by William Henry Perrin, 1883 at page 127., also at page 239-144, reprinted 1970. +Arrilla Alberta ROTRAMEL, married my great-grandfather, Oscar Foster McCLURE, in 1887. I don't have a great deal of material in the ROTRAMEL's and their descendants other than the material in the book I mentioned. Although I have some dates of birth for some of the descendants I have no idea of where they migrated to. Or wound up living. Or for that matter where their descendants are living today. It is of some great interest to me to hear that there are ROTRAMEL's living close to you. West Frankfort, is very close to where my ROTRAMEL's once lived and could very possibly be where their descendants now live. With the exception of my immediate line, most of my data and information is frozen in the late 1800's. I would like very much to be in contact with other ROTRAMEL's or their descendants. Possibly with the information I've given you, a connection could be made. I'm more than willing to share my meager information with anyone interested. Contact: Contact: G. Raymond Marshall
