c) They call me "Spaz" and "Plastic Man".
d) I'd been hoping you'd forget about it.

f) We expect very high standards … and come down hard on those who don't like to conform.

i) He was fighting, shoplifting, everything.
j) Look, Jim, this is for you. Buy yourself something nice.
k) Now clear off and take your little spastic friend with you.
l) Look, Jim, this is for you. Buy yourself something nice.
m) Hang on, it's tea-time. Me mam'll hammer me if I'm late.
n) It's not your fault your mum didn't look after you properly.
o) Don't worry. I keep my promises. Always.

3. Mr Bryant (the Head), Mrs Pryme and Mr Cooper have different views of Jim. For example, Mrs Pryme has more sympathy for Jim’s situation. Choose two of these people and write their report on Jim after his first month at St Xavier’s.

The following example (a report about a different student) might help you:

Brian has settled into his new school very quickly. He is a confident, sociable boy and has made friends quickly.

Brian found the unit on Symmetry difficult at first, but in general he copes very well with Maths. He asks questions when he does not understand something and cooperates well with his classmates. Indeed, he has been very helpful to less able students.

Brian is quite active in Extra Curricular activities. He is a keen volleyball player and swimmer. In addition, he is currently attending rehearsals for "Fame", a middle school drama production.

In summary, Brian is a popular, energetic student who has made a positive impression in the short time he has been at St Xavier’s. He is likely to do well in his studies.
