I recently had a phone call from my friend Kay wanting to know how you figure out the first cousin once removed puzzle. She wanted to know what the removed part meant. I have made a chart here to help you figure this out. Assume you have one set of parents that have a son and a daughter. This son and daughter both marry and have one child in each generation. I'm giving them names to make it easier to figure out the relationships to each other. Please let me know if I made a mistake.
