Copper, Silver, Gold - Veitsch, Styria


 
Description: Tetrahedrite-quartz vein (left) in magnesite (brown and grey, right)
with tectonic breccia between them. Blue staining is azurite. The tetrahedrite
contains about 550 g/t silver in solid solution and about 22 g/t gold as small
grains of native gold.
Genesis: Late Eo-Alpine hydrothermal tetrahedrit-quartz vein in magnesite.
Locality: Abandoned magnesite mine Sattlerkogel, Veitsch, Styria, Austria.
