What  Vishu  thinks  about  NitGu  ...

When i first landed in to the IIT i got a slip (which everyone of us got) having the name of my room mate along with other details. I looked at the name 'Nitin' and my immediate reaction was not a very enthusiastic one as in past i had known two guys by the name Nitin and with both of them i had a sort of relationship which i better not mention here. After having my lunch in the afternoon i was coming back to my room when i saw a guy in front of me heading towards the same direction in which i was supposed to. I got a feeling that 'ho na ho yahi apna roomie hai'. And i was right.

But within few days i discovered that he was a different type of 'Nitin' and i started enjoying talking with him . I was really amazed to see a person telling me about his first crush in IIT within two days of knowing me. ( yaar woh ek ladki hai na , S*****, mmmmmm, bahut sexy lagti hai).

During the first sem (or for that matter the whole year) he used to remain very rarely in the wing due to which our interaction was limited.

From the second year onwards it was a different story . We started enjoying a lot living together, playing pranks on wingmates (read C.D.), and ofcourse playing together. We two shared common interests (bulla, movies, phatta, not attending classes etc.) and this was one reason why our relationship grew. Playing phatta with him was one of the best experiences here. We shared some really nice partnerships which i really enjoyed a lot. Then we two also were involved in watching some duds together which really other people didn't dared to got to the theatres to watch.

He, according to me, is the most 'saaf dil ka' sort of a person in the wing. His sense of humour is ultimate and i do confess that i have enjoyed his company, the most than any other person in IIT (this thing i m sure not many persons can boast of their roommates). Those days in Hall-2 when he, kasliwal and myself wud just used to laugh at things which was really very difficult for the others to even smile at , were ultimate. Once we kept on laughing for some 3-4 minutes or so non-stop and that too on nothing. The way we fought for that extra Bourbone biscuit on the terrace, those Maths classes in third sem when we cleared our concepts of Complex numbers in an uncomplex way (albeit 'apni ishtyle'), and the way we prepared for Matti paper the whole night were few of the memorable moments we shared together.

Throughout the three years that we were roommates only two things of his used to turn me down and that was him being non systematic and being clumsy at doing something. I have lost track of how many times he has lost his (and in few cases mine) keys. And after having done so just lying on the bed and cooling off his heels. The other thing being getting senti at something which the other might feel quite trivial.

Being roomies for 3 years i can claim that i  know him the best. He doesnt conceal much from me regarding his views which may concern some other person of the wing or any other thing. Similarly he knows about me equal (if not more) than any other person here. He is one of the two guys here, who i can claim, genuinely gets happy when i do well in any sort of activity.

He is a sort of person who can never remain aloof. He needs people around him virtually all the time, with whom he can enjoy and i really love this quality of his .

He is the best sportsperson in the wing, not only bcoz he plays ( cricket, baddy) very well but also because of his enthusiasm in foraying into games he hasn't played before.

I think myself very lucky in getting a roomie who is now one of my best friend. He wud be one of those persons i m gonna miss like hell in my next year here.
