LESSER MAGIC
Lesser magic is the effect that you have on people via the way you act and appear to them and can be used in everyday situations to manipulate those situations to your will .
There are three types of Lesser magic-- sex, wonder, and sentiment. These can be combined as you please or best suits you. When you apply Sex in Lesser magic, you have a way and look about you that is sexually appealing to others. When wonder is applied, you may have a "freakish" or eccentric look etc. that may instil fear in others. With sentiment, you may have an "air" of innocence about you. This can not only apply to the youthful, but also to older persons as well , who may appear as the sweet old lady or grandpa type next door. The right attitude that will make others see you or feel about you in the way you desire or will work best for any particular situation is needed in accordance with the type of Lesser magic that you are applying also, if you expect any amount of success.

GREATER MAGIC
There are also three types of Greater magic-- Sex, Destruction, and compassion. Sex rituals are used to create desire on the part of the person you desire or to procure sexual partners for yourself. Destruction rituals are, of course, used to destroy one who has hurt you or gone out of their way to cause trouble--a person who has in effect asked for punishment--- and compassion rituals serve to fix problems that you may be having--perhaps you are in dire need of money, or are having trouble with a loved one. Magic is excellent to have when you find that you cannot fix the problems you are having on your own, and so must call upon the " higher powers" --which actually equates to you calling upon the strength of your own emotions. That is what makes a ritual successful--the biochemical energies that you create and then disperse to flux things to your will. The trappings that these types of rituals call for -- the parchment , the candles, the chalice and elixir etc-- are just that -- trappings. The real point of the ritual is "getting you there" , to that strong emotional pitch that is needed for any successful magical working.
The degree of success you achieve by doing a satanic ritual depends immensely on how strongly you feel about the goal you wish to achieve, and so anything that can be used during a ritual that appertains to your goal to strengthen your emotions is vital. This is called IMAGERY and will be explained further.
If you were to do a sex ritual, you may wish to involve fantasy involving the partner you wish to have. Of course, it would be best to reach orgasm at some point in the ritual, as you give off great amounts of energy on doing so. For the " hex" or destruction ritual, you must be so filled with enmity and loathing for your intended victim that you can feel it flush your face and make your hands shake.
For the Compassion ritual if you truly feel strong about whatever it is that you wish to achieve, you will be so overcome with grief that you'll pretty much bawl your eyes out. Seriously. I’m not kidding.
And magic is no joke. It can backfire on you if you're not careful. The reason why the threefold rule works with witches is because they worry so much that it will come back on them or that their "spell" will not work, never realizing that is the reason WHY it failed or "came back three times" . After doing a ritual of any kind , let it be the furthest thing from your mind and I guarantee it will work for you.
This is also why no amount of " hope" or "prayer " will do anything for you, because concentrating on the subject so furtively wastes the energy you could have been using productively in a ritual. "Praying" disperses small amounts of energies , whereas if you were to do a ritual you are building that energy up and dispersing it "in bulk" if you will, which as I've said is vital for the ritual to be effective.

INGREDIENTS
There are also five essential ingredients that you must pay attention to if you intend to do any of these rituals.
1) Desire-- You must have a strong desire for whatever it is that you wish to achieve or receive. If you don't really have the desire or don't care which way your situation goes, then don't bother doing a ritual. Obviously , if the driving desire for whatever it is that you want is absent, you will not be able to effectively project your emotions in the way that you need.
2) Timing-- If you intend to perform a ritual that is going to effect someone in some way, it is best done when they are at their most receptive state--usually when the person is asleep. It is also important to pay attention to the sleep cycle also, as the person will be most impressionable during their "dream" or "REM" sleep. This stage of sleep usually occurs in the fifth or sixth hour of sleep . Or you could perform the ritual two hours before the person wakes, if you know their sleep schedule.

3) Imagery-- Anything that you could employ during a ritual--fantasy, music, symbolic objects of any kind-- that will help you increase the effect of the ritual and heighten your emotions is vital. Whether the scenery be in your mind or physical, whatever works best for you.

4) Direction-- I spoke of this also. Once you have the desire strong enough to perform a ritual , you should do everything in your might to symbolically direct the force to wherever you wish it to go DURING THE RITUAL AND NOT ANYTIME BEFORE OR AFTER . When you are finished with the ritual, let it be the furthest thing from your mind, because by waiting on "pins and needles" for your ritual to work you will only hurt the thrown spell by weakening it with energies that will serve to keep the success away from you.

5) Balance Factor-- This basically means that if you are going to perform a ritual, it is best to realize which persons and situations it will work best on. As Dr. Lavey put it " One of the magician's greatest weapons is knowing himself; his talents, abilities, physical attractions and detractions, etc., and when where and with whom to utilize them!" Heed this good advice, and learn to use the balance factor for the greatest success you can achieve during a ritual.
