The painting binge lasted a couple of nights and a grand total of two masterpieces. By this stage the paint was starting to run a bit short and this one was done with a strictly limited range of Taubmans. Given the restrictions I think it turned out rather OK on the whole.
What it is is one of the valves from the transmitter, rendered as a satellite.
Touchy little beasts. If you didn't tune the transmitter exactly right the valves overheated and the solder melted out all over the place causing all sorts of fun.
Up on top of the hill the Americians had this wopping great ultra modern tropo scatter system that made our quaint little 5KW HF jobs look positively antique.
Sigh.
