Airfoils can rotate 180 degrees, from down to up, to satisfy flight requirements. The data banks and radios are also wired to the batteries, solar cells, electronic controls, and mechanical controls so the ship is more likely to complete its mission (which is data transport and transmission).
Drop tank mountings are integral, but not often used.
Named for planetary systems which contain naval bases. The maneuver drive design has proven to be especially vulnerable to sabotage. A major variant is well liked by crews because the addition of a 10 ton subcraft forces the crew into the better staterooms (eliminates 3 staterooms and adds 2 tons cargo).

If drop tanks are retained, two successive jumps of 4 parsecs are possible. If drop tanks are drained and dropped, two jumps of 6 parsecs are possible. While drop tanks are fitted, the ship is unstreamlined, and fuel skimming is not possible. The drop tanks are located behind the main fuel tankage, and below the crew section (between the airfoils). While fitted the missile turrets can only fire directly to the sides.
