COMMENTS
The Merlin class of Escorts was an early attempt of the IN to get 6G
Jump 4 capabilities in it's frontline ships. This ship appeared to be a
good balance of offensive systems when it was designed in 675. The
armor was considered a bit light, but deemed adequate for it's role as a
screening vessel in a larger fleet.

Designer's Notes:
This is an attempt to create a TL13 ship that can keep up with the IN
standard of 6G J4. There are trade-offs in this design, specifically: a
50-ton bay instead of 100-ton; double occupancy for the crew; minimum
required power plant; minimum required computer (with Fib backup of
course).
