COMMENTS
The Merlin 2 class of Escorts was an update of an older ship that was
common just after the Civil War era. Packing a larger punch, better
defense, and a more capable computer suite, this was seen as a well
executed update of a sucessful older design.

Designer's Notes:
Just to provide a contrast of how much more effective a TL15 design is,
even in a smaller vessel (as if we didn't know already, right?). There
are fewer trade-offs with this ship, mostly double occupancy still, and
the computer backup is not the same level as the regular online
machine.
