Comments about the Positron class prompted the Positron2 class, which at 74,000 tons is under the "Q line", so is only at +1 to hit instead of +2. I found there wan't sense in pushing the last 999 tons, since that added 9 hardpoints that wouldn't have helped anything (would actually have brought down the factor of the sand or laser batteries).

COMMENTS
The Positrons class is designed to keep the opposing battle line
"honest" by forcing them to armor their ships. This vessel has the
maximum possible defence against Meson guns, and the maximum possible
particle accelerator spinal mount. This smaller follow-on version of
the Positron class is able to keep up with the performance of the
standard Imperial Navy squadrons, and able to refine its own fuel
(though it would take many trips by its small craft to refuel).
Its smaller size makes it a harder target for weapons of all types.
