Sling class Missile Frigate

At TL12 fusion guns and plasma guns are a significant threat, so I used my recent workup of minimal defenses to decide I wanted to put factor 8 sandcasters on the larger ship which means 7 hardpoints. I suppose I could have ditched the last three hardpoints and made the hull 1700 tons. My Sling class is 1700 tons, and includes greater armor, but looses the fusion guns, beam lasers, and ship's boat. The outcome is not much cheaper than the Crossbow class, but has a more favorable target size modifier.

COMMENTS
Designed to be a fairly robust missile bay platform, this ship has a
good level of armor, as well as sandcasters. This ship also has 6
months storage space available. Crew comfort is enhanced by including
2.5 extra staterooms in the design. There are no sub-craft in this
design, but since this is a streamlined design it is not felt to be
a serious limitation. Examples of this class are named for items that
can be thrown with slings.
