GOURMET SAMPLER- AN OUTSTANDING SUCCESS IN 2006

This was our 7th annual production of the Gourmet Sampler Fundraiser for the Fremont County Habitat for Humanity affiliate, the income from which will be a major factor in funding our 7th house in 2006. Over $40,000 in gross receipts was received, thanks again to the very generous support of the businesses, sponsors, volunteers, and the caring citizens of this county who attended.

.

This year, we located our wine tasting area in a tent outside the Event Center building in order to make the flow of attendees on into the indoor food area more gradual. That proved to be a big improvement and, weather permitting, will be repeated next year.

Musicians played inside the Tent and the Event Center throughout the afternoon, their photos of which are shown below:

COMMENTS ON GOURMET SAMPLER - 2006

Responses from this year's attendees were verry largely positive. Attendees commented favorably on the use of a tent to first expose people to wine tasteing which had the benefit of avoiding congestion in the food lines which followed. Also it was appreciated to have wine available along with food service in the Event Center, even though the wine was sold at retail prices. Tickets collected indicate over 6oo people attended the event. The Sunrise Lions Club again controlled the parking, and no problems were reported.

If you have suggestions as to how we can make the 2007 Gourmet Sampler more comfortable and/or effective, please let us know by calling our Habitat office at 719-275-7781 any week day between 10 A.M. and 3:00 P.M.

Thank you very much for visiting our web site, and (we hope) for attending/supporting the Gourmet Sampler. Please join us again in 2007 when we hope to have a still more productive and pleasant food tasteing event for your enjoyment. REMINDER: Get your tickets early-these events are so popular, they sell out quickly. No tickets are sold at the door!
