CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS - House #2 in Penrose, Colo.

We are just in the start-up phase of this project. The CDOH Grant for infrastructure work has just been applied for.(and the money very recently received) to pay for work including water & sewer hookups, surveying, and necessary permits now in process of authorization. The building lot was very generously donated to this affiliate by the congregation of the Kirkwood Memorial Presbyterian Church of
Penrose.
The Church is shown in the above photo
and the donated lot is shown in the photo to the right
We will continue progressive photographic documentation as the new house is
built on this lot. The surveying started on June 25, 2001.
Our Groundbreaking Ceremony was held Sunday, Aug 5, 2001 . The above (right) photo
shows Building Committee member Paul Widger with the spade; John Sandefur-Building
Committee Co-Chairman (center); and building supervisor Bob Klemm (right).The
photo to the left shows Laura Jones and Sons Levi(16) & Devon(8), our new homeowners-to-be.
A picnic for all volunteers was held immediately after the ceremony in
the Penrose city park.
