Pantaloons

Zouave Bugler in Spring/Summer trowsers.

Zouaves were issued and carried two pairs of trowsers: spring/summer trowsers and fall/winter trowsers.

Spring/Summer Trowsers

  • Made of white linen
  • Have white bone buttons 16mm in diameter
  • Has 2 bone buttons at waist closure
  • 8 pleats on either side of waist closure
  • cotton drill waistband and fly lining
  • black cotton ties at legs

    Fall/Winter Trowsers

  • Made of madder red wool
  • Have zinc metal buttons
  • Have dark blue soutache piping on the side seams, and around pockets
  • Have "Hole of Lamorciere" slit at front bottom
  • Have 2 zinc buttons at waist closure
  • 8 pleats on either side of waist closure
  • cotton drill waistband and fly lining
  • black cotton ties at legs
