Gold Gourami
Trichogaster trichopterus sumatranus
Origin: Sumatra.

Temperament: Often aggresive amonst themselves, occasionally attacks other fish.

Size: 13cm or 5 inches

Temperature: 77-84°F or 25-29°C

pH Level: 7.0 or thereabout.

Food: Flake food, pellets, peas

Tank Setup: Keep plenty of plants in the tank. Offer caves for the smaller fish.

Breeding: Bubble-nest builder.

Sexing: Males have longer dorsal fin.

Comments: Can be extremely aggresive toward one another, so it may be best to stick to a one gourami-to-tank policy, however some books say buying in pairs in best. In any case, in a paired situation, the larger fish becomes territorial.
