Origin: Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesian Archipelago. Temperament: Community fish. Fairly well behaved. Size: Up to 4.5cm (1.8") Temperature: 72-79°F or 22-26°C pH Level: 6.2 to 6.8 Food: Flake food, pellets, plant matter, worms, crustaceans, insects. Tank Setup: Dense vegetation but with adequate swimming space. Breeding: Spawning takes amongst plants. Eggs hatch in 26-30 hours, and fry are free-swimming in 3-5 days. Sexing: Difficult. In the male, the characteristic blue marking is sharply defined, but in the female it is slightly more blurred.. Comments: Best kept in a school of six or more fish. |
