| Origin: Venezuala, Columbia, Mexico. Temperament: Males sometimes pushy, but in all a good community fish. Size: Potentially 12 cm (5"), however 4" is more common. Temperature: 78-80°F or 26-27°C however will tolerate lower. pH Level: 7.0-7.8 (Salt can be added too - 1 level teaspoon to 4.5 litres) Food: Flake food, pellets, peas, algae, lettuce. Tank Setup: Keep plenty of plants in the tank. Keep with peaceful species. Offer caves if necessary for females. Breeding: Livebearer, extremely easy to breed! Sexing: Males distinguished by a gonopodium. Comments: Generally good community fish, easy to feed and care for. |
