| Origin: Malaysia, Thailand. Temperament: Peaceful, tame. Will eat from owner's hand. Size: 13cm or 5 inches Temperature: 77-84°F or 25-29°C pH Level: 6.5-7.5 Food: Flake food, pellets, peas, bloodworms, brine shrimp and daphnia. Tank Setup: Keep plenty of plants in the tank. Keep with peaceful species. Breeding: Bubble-nest builder. Sexing: Males have longer dorsal fin. Mature males have a red throat. Comments: This is an excellent, peaceful fish that adds both colour and charm to the aquarium. The best behaved of the gourami species, under the right conditions, they can live over seven years. |
