Fraud against our Mobilized Soldiers

In Arkansas, agencies are investigating a case of fraud involving the National Guard. A spokeswoman for the Arkansas National Guard says someone has been calling families of deployed soldiers and telling them that the family member is missing in action. The caller then asks the family to verify the soldier`s social security number and other personal information. At least one family has had their bank account emptied after giving information out to someone who said they were with the military.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL THE MILITARY CALL YOUR FAMILY AND ASK FOR THIS INFORMATION. THEY WILL NOTIFY YOUR FAMILY IN PERSON IF THIS WERE TRUE. DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE TELEPHONE.
