"Samantha, honey, are you sure you wonna go?" Samantha's mother, Teri, protested. "I mean, I know Brian's a nice kid and all, but, Sweden? C'mon. First Kentucky, and now Sweden? You've only just graduated. Can't you wait for a month or two?"
"Mom! It's for his graduation! I'm not gunna miss it for the world. I'm sorry, but, I care a lot for him. I'm not gunna start by not going with him to his graduation cause you think I should wait! Secondly, I wonna be there with brian if this thing with Max works out. And Lou went through so much trouble for me, Kristin, and Marisa to go!" Samantha and her mother had been arguing about he goind to Sweden ever since Samantha told Teri.
"Well, I guess there's no talkin' you out of it, huh." Samantha threw her arms up and walked out of the room carying a bag pull of clothes. "Listen Samantha, I know you care about Brian. And so do I. He's probably my favorite out of all your boyfriends. But, I guess I'm just worried what you two might do there. I have meet his parents, and they seem like the sweetest pair of people. I mean, c'mon, you have to give me credit, You've never left America before, so. And here I am, getting told by my eighteen year old daughter that she's going to Sweden?" Samantha DID give her credit for that. And also for worrying. "I'm okay with Kentucky, but I'm not sure I'm cool  with Sweden."
"But, mom, I guess you just have to trust me, huh. I'm not gunna do anything with Brian. He's not like that. And neither am I. You know that. Okay? Also, you said you didn't care where I go as long as I'm being watched and as long as I'm finished with school." Samantha waited for a little bit to finish her statement. "I'll call once I get there, aight?" Teri nodded. "Besides, I'm leaving till tomorrow evening. Also, Brian wants to take me out tonight, that's okay?"
"Of course it's okay. He's your boyfriend, not mine." Samantha and her mother laughed.
It feels so great to have such a wonderful realationship with my parents, especially my mom. Samantha thought to herself.
"Samantha, it's for you." Teri said as she handed her daughter the phone.
"Hello? Oh, hi Jennie. Huh? Tonight? Well, I kinda already made plans. I know, I totally forgot, but Brian said he's gunna take me out before we go tomorrow. I'm sorry. Hey listen, if you want, I'll call Brian and tell him I can't go cause you and I already made plans a week ago. You sure? Well, how about you and Matt come with us. Okay? Okay, lemmie call Brian and ask him if that's okay. Bye - bye." When Samantha hung up the phone, she felt someone grab her. "Ahh! Oh my gosh, Brian! Don't ever do that tome agian!" the Lexington native broke into laughter as Samantha heard her younger brother, Steven, die in laughter, too. Samantha couldn't help but to let out a giggle or two.
"I'm sorry, baby. Steve dared me. Hahaha. . . " Brian got serious when he saw the look on Samantha's face. "Sorry, anyways, what did you need to tell me?" he said, putting his arms around her waist.
"Oh, um. . . I made plans with Jennie, like a week ago, and I was wonderin' if her and Matt could join us tonight?"
"Yea, that's fine. But first, kiss me."
"Gladly!" As Brian and Samantha were kissing, Samantha's little sister, Mari, came running in and yelled, "Oh great! Mom! Sam and Brian are mooching again!"
