All About Aidan

Aidan is originally from Berkeley, California. That’s not so obvious at first but once you get to know him that spirit emerges. It shows through the music as well. Even with a casual listen, you hear the jangly strum in every song, reminiscent of the Byrds or REM. A closer listen yields the Neil Young influence - the sparing use of notes and the sacrificing of control for emotion. Dig a little deeper still and you'll hear his Irish roots, though they are often mistaken for country music influences. Ah well, he is a big Chet Atkins fan. He’s wanted to be a guitar player since he was nine. Through a series of trades involving matchbox cars and a little help from his dad he got a Yamaha acoustic. A few structured lessons from a schooled guitarist turned him off quickly. Several years later he joined the rest of the Quinn brothers forming a band in the attic of their garage much to the annoyance of neighbors. He’s been playing ever since, with much less annoyed neighbors. Well, except for hotel neighbors. You see, Aidan likes to take the guitar traveling. Not just when touring but any time he leaves the house overnight. He finds the change of scenery inspiring and writes a lot in hotel rooms. If you are next door, he appoligizes in advance.

Outside the band Aidan enjoys using power tools and drinking interesting beer and wine... not at the same time. He's been making tables lately, and of course the famous “farm stand” (the beautiful rolling merchandise table).

Some Facts:
Aidan has a BS in Geology
Knows a lot about horticulture and way too much about car accidents
Has been to a Walmart just once (in 2004)

Once heard a shaggy sound in his cocoa
Christine says “ he has a certain resourcefulness that is at once intriguing and annoying”.
