Show Stopper
It's an outrage if only cowboys can play late.

There's nothing like the last weekend of summer to hang out with friends and have a good time - unless, of course, you're one of those "long-haired, rock & roller, rebel types," because then, it's just not allowed!  Especially if you're in a band called Pagan Rage.
I'm referring to to the supposed "street party/music fest" that was hyped up to be the "last blast" of the season, you know, a real "show down."  How about a big let down?  Don't get me wrong, there was a lot of talented musicians there, and every band deserved the time on stage, but that's just it!  The last band of the evening was shut down by the Casper Police Department.  Now, lets try to gets this straight; it's a holiday weekend, the show is far enough away from residents not to disturb them, and heck, the last time Casper blocked off a few streets to have a good time -  it went untill at least 1:00 am.  Hmmm...
Tickets for this event were $8, and I can guarantee that at least  75 percent of the people tere were there to se Pagan Rage.  It's not just the money spent, it's also the livlihood of the band to do what they love.
Would it have been so terrible to the show go on, even if it was just for a few songs?  Since it was an all ages show, arm bands were handed out to those who were of "legal age," and most younger kids were accompanied by their parents.  I see no reason at all why the Casper Police Department saw fit to ruin the show for everyone.
Perhaps one should take into considerationthe fact that since there's not  whole lot to do in this town, isn't it good to have the masses happy and entertained?  Wouldn't it be a lot better than being discontent, angry, and then thinking up something to do?  (And you wonder why the crime rate is so high here.)
