Marlena turned her body around and moved her head up towards John, looking deep into his eyes. “John, I love you too, I love you so much.” Marlena said with a depth of passion.
John pulled Marlena up to his lips as he gave Marlena a wet kiss. Marlena laid back down on John’s chest, listening to him breathe in and out. John wrapped his arms as Marlena tightly until her body sank into John and she fell asleep. John woke up first as he looked down at Marlena burrowing in his chest. He slowly lifted her off himself and turned her to the side of him. He quietly got off the bed trying to not wake Marlena. He put on a robe and walked down the stairs of the penthouse with the robe waving across the steps. He walked into the kitchen and began going through the cabinets. He grabbed a box of pancake mix and put it on the counter. He toke a pan out and put it on the stove and turning the gas on. A few moments later Marlena was up in her room beginning to wake up as she rubbed her eyes. “John.” She whispered.
When John wasn’t there she put her robe on and went strolled down the stairs. She breathe in a breeze of pancakes and walked into the kitchen. “Good Morning.” John said as Marlena walked through the door. “Good Morning.” Marlena said walking over and giving him a kiss. “I hope you’re hungry.” John said. “Oh it smells great; I can’t wait to eat them.” Marlena said staring at the pancakes. “It’s my special recipe, a little cinnamon, a little apple, and voila.” John said while flipping a pancake onto a plate. “Here you go lovely lady.” “Thank you.” Marlena said.
Marlena toke her plate and sat down at the table that was already set for two. John then put a platter of pancakes on the table as they both dug into them. “Oh John this is delicious.” Marlena said to him while taking another bite of her pancake. “Why thank you.” John replied.
After breakfast Marlena went back up in her room and got dressed as John cleaned up and then went to go get changed. John had on a black suit and Marlena was dressed in a red suit. They met back down in the living room. “Oh do you have to go to work gorgeous.” John said while walking over to Marlena, putting his hands behind her, grabbing her back. “I have to John but I will try to get out as earlier as I can to see you.” She told him, moving her hands up his back and pulling him in for a quick kiss.
They both went their separate ways to work. They were both daydreaming most of the day as they thought about each other and waiting to be in each other’s arms. Marlena was sitting at her desk doing some paper work when someone came in with a bouquet of flowers. “Dr. Evans, flowers for you.” The deliverer said. “Who are they from?” Marlena asked blushing. “Doesn’t say, but there is a note.” The deliverer said giving Marlena the flowers.
Marlena read: I have a surprise for you; meet me in the east side of the park at 8 o’clock tonight.
Marlena smiled realizing it was John who sent the flowers. She put the flowers back on her desk and stared at them until the rest of the day. John was sitting in his office piled in work. The clock read 6:35 and he was just about to get out until his assistant came in. “Mr. Black, we have a little problem with some data files.” His assistant said while dropping a manila envelope on his desk. “Oh no.” He said opening the files. “Do you need anything boss?” His assistant asked. “No thanks you can go.” John said.
He searched through the envelope realizing that this would take him all night to get together. He left a message on Marlena’s answering machine. “Doc, it’s me, I’m really sorry but I won’t be able to be home until very late tonight, I am piled up with work, anyway call when you get this message, love you.” John said.
At this moment a shadow with a black glove walked over to the answering machine and pressed the delete button.
