Marine engineers are trained in the construction of sailing vessels. They also work on offshore projects and in underwater energy exploration projects. They work in the designing of ships along with naval architects. The job of running, maintenance and repair of engine rooms of sailing vessels, both merchant and naval, is also carried out by marine engineers.

Specialisations

Marine engineers generally collate the experience of working with specific maritime vessels, be it hydrofoils, naval war ships, dingy oil tankers or submarines, large and medium vessels, cargo liners, refrigerated ships, etc.
