FWF Saturday Storm - June 23rd, 2001
Saturday Storm opens up for the new year with new FWF World Heavyweight Champion The Ice entering the arena. He says that over ten months ago, the FWF had their Pay Per View Odd Man Out, in which the main event was the 30 Minute Triple Threat Iron Man Match for the World Heavyweight Championship. Needless to say, since he is holding the belt, Ice won the match, making him the Iron Man. And for the past ten months, he has not had the opportunity to defend the title on an FWF card. But since he is a fighting champion, Ice will defend the championship in an open challenge, tonight on Storm. Pirahna answers the challenge, stating that he was screwed out of the title at Odd Man Out. So tonight, Pirahna says he will take back his belt. Before he can say anything more though, Commissioner McDougal enters, stating that he is the only one that can make the matches, and he has already booked Pirahna against the returning Lazaro Gonzalez tonight. That is no problem for Pirahna though, he says he will fight both matches tonight, so the main event is booked for The Ice vs. Pirahna with the World Championship on the line.
FWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP
Hardcore Beary vs. Eddie McPhereson(c)
We come back from break and Eddie is in the ring. He says he has a startling announcement to make. Since he debuted in the FWF, he and the fans have learned to live with Eddie as a person, but now he will be a different person. Eddie then announces that he is gay. So now, he asks for his new theme music to be played, and he dances as It's Raining Men by Gloria Gaynor blares over the sound system. Then Batman enters, and states that after their intense battle at Odd Man Out, he has learned to respect Eddie. He then congradulates Eddie on his announcement, and announces he will do guest commentary. Hardcore Beary enters, and the match is on. The two battle until former Hardcore Champion Lazaro Gonzalez runs in and beats down Eddie, allowing Hardcore to get the pin, and become the new Hardcore Champion! (1:27) Batman runs in to get Lazaro for beating his new friend, but is quickly pulverized by Lazaro, and hit with the Celtic Elbow. El Tigre de San Juan de la Manana vs. Delinquent
El Tigre comes out on his pogo stick for his FWF debut against one half of the Tag Team Champions, Delinquent. The two fight, with El Tigre hitting his Tequila Tailspin move, but he fails to capitalize on a pin, and Delinquent fights back, hitting the Delinquilizer for the win. (3:11)
Ted McDougal then enters the ring, saying how he enjoys all of this power that he has as commissioner, and that he has decided to be the Special Guest Referee in tonight's World Championship main event. But as he is talking, For Whom the Bell Tolls begins over the sound system, and the FWF Owner Mr. Hawke comes through the curtain! Hawke says he is tired of McDougal's tyranny over the FWF, and sends Ted to the back. Now that Hawke is back, it is the dawning of a new era in the FWF.
FWF INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Batman vs. Sexy Bear(c)
Sexy Bear beats mercifully on an injured Batman who is still in pain from the beating he recieved earlier in the night from Lazaro Gonzalez. But when Sexy goes for a suplex, Batman reverses with a DDT, and goes out of the ring to recouperate. When he goes back into the ring, Sexy is getting up, and Batman goes for a flying forearm, but Sexy ducks and the ref gets hit. Sexy hits the Sexy Slam and it looks like a successful defense for Sexy, but with the ref down, Eddie McPhereson runs in, attacking Sexy Bear with a plastic flower, and follows up with the Humpty Hump Love Pump. He then places his friend Batman on top of Sexy Bear, and the ref rises, makes the count, and Batman is the new Intercontinental Champion. (3:33)
Lazaro Gonzalez vs. Pirahna
Before the match it is announced that this match will not be for the Hardcore Title. These two get it on, with Lazaro trying to speed his way around Pirahna, but in the end, Pirahna's power won out, and Lazaro was forced to tap out to the Waterfall. (2:55) After the match, Pirahna made it clear that Ice was next.
FWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Special Guest Referee: Ted McDougal
Pirahna vs. The Ice(c)
As soon as referee McDougal enters the ring, Mr. Hawke enters to do some guest commentary, making sure that McDougal calls this one fair. Pirahna enters, mocking The Ice, and next Ice enters, ready to go. These two battle back and forth for a couple of minutes, with several near falls, and McDougal playing no obvious favorite, beating on both of the competitors. Towards the end, Pirahna begins to argue with the referee, and Ice begins to gain an advantage, but he goes for the Ice Breaker too early, and Pirahna reverses it. Ice gets back up, and is locked in the Waterfall, and it is obvious that after a couple of seconds, Ice is tapping out, but McDougal, who is now heavily against Pirahna, says that Ice is just reaching for the ropes! Pirahna gets mad and unlocks the Waterfall, going after Ted, but Ice comes from behind, spins Pirahna around and hits the Ice Breaker. McDougal slaps down a fast three count, and The Ice retains his belt. (11:00) Afterwards, Hawke gets in McDougal's face for the obvious partiality in the match, but Ice comes from behind and nails Hawke with the championship.
