FWF Saturday Storm - June 30th, 2001
Storm comes on the air, and the opening strains of Southtown come over the speakers. Delinquent comes out with a microphone, looking like he has something on his mind. He says that he is tired of watching everyone else in the FWF get main event shots, while he is lingering in the midcard. He wants to be in the main event. Then, the Owner Mr. Hawke comes out to address Delinquent. Hawke says that in order to be in the main event, you have to earn it. The top wrestlers in the FWF have worked very hard to get where they are, and that is why they are in the main events. But Hawke thinks that Delinquent deserves a shot at maybe getting to the main event, so he grants him a shot. It is not the night's main event, but it is a World Title shot against The Ice, tonight. But on to what Hawke really wants to say. After Ted McDougal blatantly screwed Pirahna last week on Storm, he is angry. So he has booked a main event for the evening. The event will be a handicap match, consisting of Ted McDougal vs. himself and a partner. He then went on to introduce his partner, Pirahna. Pirahna came out and assured that Ted was going down tonight. Two big matches were set for Storm tonight: Delinquent vs. The Ice with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line, and a handicap match with Ted McDougal vs. Mr. Hawke and Pirahna.
FWF HARDCORE CHAMPIONSHIP
El Tigre de San Juan de la Manana vs. Lazaro Gonzalez(c)
This battle was an intense one, but in the end, Lazaro foiled an attempt at the Tequila Tailspin, and put El Tigre down for long enough to hit the Celtic Elbow, and gain a three count. (2:11)
Eddie McPhereson & Batman vs. Lazaro Gonzalez & Sexy Bear
There was some serious bad blood between these four after Storm last week, as Lazaro cost, then took Eddie's Hardcore Title, then later Eddie cost Sexy Bear his Intercontinental Championship to Eddie's new friend, Batman. Batman and Eddie entered together, dancing to Eddie's song, and Batman was ecstatic about his new title. The match was on, and after Lazaro and Sexy took turns beating on Eddie, Batman was tagged in, and the match went out of control. Batman hit the Bat Punches on Lazaro, followed by the Bat Splash, but then Lazaro got Batman down, and went for a pin, but Eddie ran in, hit Lazaro with his purple flower, and Batman rolled him over, getting the three count. (4:28)
FWF WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
Delinquent vs. The Ice(c)
The Ice began by simply refusing to be taken down by Delinquent, and afterwards, yelled, "You want main event? This is main event!" to the challenger. Afterwards, Ice hit a succession of moves, with a pin attempt following each one. It was obvious Ice was just toying with Delinquent. But he took Delinquent too lightly, and when Ice went for a slam, Delinquent reversed it into a high impact bulldog. Then, Ice kept trying to hit moves, but Delinquent reversed them all. Then, Ice went for a sidewalk slam, but Delinquent reversed it, DDTing Ice right next to the ropes. Delinquent went for a pin, and at two, Ice put his hand on the ropes, but the ref missed it, counted three, and declared Delinquent the winner! Ice immediately got up irate, as he had gotten to the ropes, and in order to be fair, Mr. Hawke ran out from backstage, and informed the referee that Ice had indeed gotten to the ropes, and the match was ordered to continue. Ice, now irate, decided that playtime was over and demolished Delinquent, with a fisherman's suplex, followed by a running powerslam, then a piledriver, and then the Ice Breaker to get a three count and retain his title. (8:38)
Handicap Match
Pirahna and Mr. Hawke vs. Ted McDougal
Ted entered with Delinquent at his side, announcing that his partner would be here to simply observe. Then Hawke and Pirahna came out, and the match was ready to start, but McDougal wanted Hawke to start the match. Hawke refused though, and Pirahna started. Pirahna gained the upper hand, and beat down McDougal, until he was immobilized, then tagged in Hawke. Hawke got in his punches, but he obviously didn't want to be in there with Ted, as he wasn't a wrestler, so he tagged out when Ted began to rise. The match continued like this, with Ted getting in virtually no offense. Able to watch no more, Delinquent picked up his chair and went after Pirahna, but before he could swing the chair, Hawke caught it and the two fought off to the backstage area, leaving McDougal and Pirahna alone. The two fought for a couple more minutes, and Ted began to make a comeback. The ref was then knocked out, and Ted grabbed a chair, but at this moment, Hawke ran out, grabbed the chair, and Hawke and Pirahna beat down Ted with the chair. Then as the ref came to, they threw the chair away, and Pirahna locked on the Waterfall. Ted wasn't able to hold on and he tapped out. (8:55) At that moment, Delinquent ran out from backstage. Hawke and Pirahna went backstage, and as Ted got up, he was irate that Delinquent wasn't there to save him, and powerbombed his tag team partner!
