The London Parrot Head Club was formed in March of 1997. The first meeting was promoted in the London Penny Saver, to be held on April 1, and great interest was shown. Members met once a month at Refried Dreams Bar & Grill, who sponsored our first year. The club currently meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Caribou Creek Restaurant on Wellington Road. Please join us at 7:30 p.m.
For a small group, we have greatly contributed to the London community in many ways. Thus far, we have sponsored a Special Needs child to go to camp, supported Muscular Dystrophy, Alzheimer's Society, Jesse's Journey, and we recently volunteered at the London Food Bank and the CPRI book sale at Westmount Mall.
We have bought toys for children, sponsored a cage at the London Humane Society, and are the proud sponsors of DEEP DENT , a Manatee in Blue Springs , Florida.
We are the currently the proud cleaners of the intersection of Highbury and Highway 401 through the Adopt- A-Highway program and the London Parrot Head Club is proudly displayed on the sign.
The club has grown in many directions. Members have come and gone, and some have stayed along for the entire cruise. We have fun, we make a difference, and some of us have made lifelong friendships.....It's Been A Lovely Cruise........Feel free to come aboard! |
