MORRIGAN |
The morrigan, the thallain equivalent of the valkyries, are the masters of slaughter. While none may match the valkyries in strength of arms, the morrigan surpass all in pure damage-dealing ability. They may not be able to defeat all opponents in a fair fight, but these rampaging psychopaths don't feel the need for a fair fight, and if they can get in the first shot, they will. Morrigan enjoy using painful poisons on their weapons, the better to murder their enemies with. |
Appearance Morrigan look mostly human, with jet black hair and pale skin. They have black lips and eyes, however, and bear a cruel look about them that no mere mortal can match. Morrigan favour dark colors, dulled metals, and similar displays of fashion. |
Seemings - Childings are the scary ones - the bullies that look at you just the right way to make you wonder if dealing with them is a good idea. However, they tend to lack the pure psychoses of their elder brethern, honing their skills by torturing small animals instead of people. - Wilders are by far the most numerous segment of the morrigan. They enjoy tormenting and destroying people, and take every oppurtunity to do so. They show no mercy or friendship - anyone who is not directly aiding them is a just target. - Grumps are just as frightening as wilders, but they learn a small amount of restraint. They tend to prefer misery to death, and will often leave victims alive to suffer for the rest of their lives. |
Affinity Fae Birthrights - Slaughter's Boon- Morrigan can call upon their dark visage at will, for the cost of either one Willpower or one Glamour. When in this state, they gain +2 dice to all damage rolls, and opponents who wish to attack them must pass a Willpower test, difficulty 6. The difficulty lowers to 4 if the subject has already been attacked by the morrigan. Morrigan do not gain Banality for killing fae. - Frightening - Morrigan are naturally fearsome - some of their lifestyle always rubs off. Morrigan gain +1 dot of Intimidation, even if it raises their total to 6. Morrigan cannot botch Intimidation or damage rolls. Frailty - Psycopathic - Morrigan are not nice people. In fact, they are bound by Glamour to hurt people. They must always attack with their full attack and damage die pool. Further, all Morrigan must take the flaw Sadist, with no increase in freebies. Finally, a morrigan must pass a Willpower test for every day that they don't hurt someone, or else they will attack and injure or torture the first person they come across. The base difficulty for this roll is 6, but it increases by one for each day that they resist. |
Quote "Foolish kithain. You thought that you were safe, that your precious Escheat would protect you. Only now, as you lie dying on the floor, do you realize how wrong you were." |
Relations with Others Morrigan tend to be straightforward, but they hardly have to be. In fact, they can often curb their tendancies when provided with targets for pain. Because of this, they have rather polarized relations with other kiths. All Seelie kiths unanimously despise the butchers, but a few groups stand out. Redcaps - Morrigan often get along quite well with the nastiest redcaps. The two groups share certain traits. Both enjoy pain, and are frightening individuals. However, a morrigan's habit of forgetting loyalties when times are tough rubs the redcaps the wrong way, and such partnerships tend to be short ones. Valkyires - Morrigan despise their goody-two-shoes brethern, and take pains to make their deaths as slow as possible. Under no circumstances will a morrigan EVER ally with a valkyrie, not even if it is the only way for them to survive. House Balor - House Balor has fruitful relations with the morrigan, and considers them close kin. The fact that morrigan can murder without worry is a great relief to the Serpent House, and they will often hire the butchers to deal with their enemies. House Scathach - The house of the Unicorn despises the Morrigan, but for a special reason. The original Morrigan was Scathach's mother, and the true founder of the house. The morrigan corrupt and pervert the name of one who gave her life fighting the Formorians that this thallain group serves. In short, the morrigan are an abomination against the house's name, and Scathach are liable to fly into a berserk rage if faced with a morrigan. |
