Wing Ribs
The ribs make up the shape of an aircraft wing. They are mounted to spars which attach to the aircraft fuselage. On the Acro Sport, as well as other wooden wing aircraft, they are glued up in a fixture. The fixture makes it easy to assemble the ribs, hold them together while the glue is drying, and gives them uniformity. There are many adhesives available. I used Chem-Tech T88 epoxy glue. It is a two part 50/50 mix that has good gap-filling properties and is good for colder shops.
This is a short rib forward of the ailerons in the gluing fixture.
