There are certain people who are special to me for a variety of reasons. Some are people I have had the good fortune to meet; others I have not. Either way, all have touched my life, so this is my small attempt at repaying them for the gifts they've shared with me. Thanks and love to all of you.

Brandon Massey, my first street team attempt. Did the team make a difference? Only his publisher knows for sure. All I know is that I had a great time getting the word out about his first book, Thunderland. If you haven't picked up your copy, what are you waiting for?? Check out Brandon's site for an excerpt to see what you've been missing!
While I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Brandon in person, we did exchange numerous emails during the big street team push. Maybe someday I'll have the good fortune to meet him in person and find out if he's as charming in person as he is in print.

While you're at it, check out Brandon's other site promoting the upcoming release of his second book, Dark Corner. This one is due out in January 2004 and can be pre-ordered right now through Amazon.com. I've got mine on pre-order. How about you?

Tori Amos, musical salve for the aching soul. Her newest cd, Tales of a Librarian arrives in stores November 18. Why don't you pop Scarlet's Walk or Little Earthquakes into your CD player while you wait?

Harry Chapin. Singer, songwriter, advocate for social change and so much more. I had the good fortune to meet Harry during a concert at Stetson University back in the late 70s. As I stood to the side of the stage after his last song, Harry came over to me, put an arm around my shoulders, gave me a squeeze and asked if he should go out for one more song. Of course I said yes. *g*
There have been times in my life when my spirit has been a whisper away from empty. It is at those times when I feel that hug again, just as strong as it was the first time. He made a difference in my life and inspired me to make a difference in the lives of others. Visit his official site and find out how you can help make a difference.

While you're in the mood for Harry's music, be sure to check out this site, run by Scott Sivakoff and Steve Gibbons. Rare and unreleased Chapin music is housed here, all with permission of the Chapin Office.

Last, but by no means least, Jen Chapin. It was with some trepidation that I listened to her first song; afraid that she might be another one of those celebrity children big on name, but low on talent. I should have had more faith. Jen's music is not to be missed!! One listen and I opened my checkbook to buy every CD she had to offer. Each one is a gem to be experienced, but my favorite has to be Open Wide, a collaborative effort between Jen and her husband, Stephan Crump.
I had the good fortune to meet both of them in April of 2003. They were playing under difficult conditions, but handled the situation with style and grace. After the concert, I was able to speak to both of them for a few minutes. Jen was lovely, even apologizing for the obnoxious people in the bar, even though the situation was completely out her control. I think I surprised Stephan, who was off to the side packing his cello, by asking him to sign my copy of Open Wide.

After you spend some time at Jen's site, be sure take a run over to Stephan's site. He didn't have a banner for me to pinch, so I'm using this picture from his site. If you have any objections, Stephan, please let me know and I'll remove or replace it immediately.
