The Inner Light |
Believe it or not, this variation on a Celtic classic came from the Star Trek, TNG episode entitled The Inner Light. Written by the fictional captain John Luc Picard, it defines the lifetime he lives in a dream. A peaceful, simple, primitive existance that proves to be much more satisfying than his high-tech fast pased reality. |
Johnny I Hardly Knew Ye |
The American folk song When Johnny Comes Marching Home has its roots in this traditional tune. I know that it is redundant, but nevertheless, it reminds me of my high school days where I was previleged to sing a very special arrangement of this number with a very special group of singers. |
The King of the Faries |
An eerie mystic melody. |
Loftus Jones |
Don't know where I found this plain melody, and it brings no memories to mind. I simply love it. |
O Carolans Concerto |
A happy little tune. |
The Repeal of the Union |
This pleasant tune makes me smile. |
Sally Gardens |
The tune Down by the Sally Gardens was my first real exposure to the soothing simplicity of celtic music. While this selection merely has a similar name, that is enough to remind me of the time I discovered the music of my heritage. |
