july 13, 2004: shimmer me sexy

welcome to v.e.r.d.a.n.t. paradise

Oh, I'm not crazy. "Shimmer me sexy" really does exist. In Victoria's Secret, that is. Teehee. That is where I went (yesterday) with Crystal, Chelsea, and Taylor Bowker's friends Kelsey and Kaitie to get free "panties"/"unmentionables"/"knickers"/UNDERWEAR. So yea, it was interesting in there. Other things we did...

Well, we went to Potbelly's and Forever21 (which is Chelsea's store). Crystal and I sat by the mannequins since we didn't feel like looking after about 10 minutes of riffling through and trying on some things. Actually, my sister calls that the slut store and recommends it for buying clothes if you ever want to go to a bar. LOL. Oh, funny thing happened there. Crystal was looking at one of the modelly mannequins up in front wearing a strapless dress and she did something, I don't remember and the dress came down, exposing its chest. We were laughing and she tried to fix it several times but it kept sliding down so finally, I fixed it. Using my magical Kathleen ways, of course.

So we parted ways eventually since Taylor had to leave, leaving me, Chelsea and Crystal. We went to several more stores, and then I made them go to Carvel. They didn't buy anything so I shared with them. LOL. Picture in your mind me, Chelsea and Crystal walking back towards Barnes + Noble from Carvel, passing around a cup of ice creaminess. So we saw Shlee at Barnes + Noble. And read for like an hour. Crystal and Chelsea looked at wedding magazines, I looked at an astrology book and a weird riddle book. Then Chelsea took the riddle book from me, so I read out loud from the astrology book and we were all cracking up laughing...

Thorny trees...nut-bearing varieties...HANDS AND FINGERS...Crystal's head...D sharp, A and A sharp...GENITALIA...Hahaha, everything about Scorpios!

You'd have to be there or read the book to get it. Oooo, still makes me *shiver* just thinking about it! ... So then my mommy gave me and Chelsea a ride home and hopefully Crystal got picked up at 6:15 like her daddy said!

Oh yes, and Quinton's brothers are stalking Chelsea. FABIO, I mean. Not Travis. FABIO.

Hmmmm, think that's it for today...I just found out Alex aka "Iggy" is taking Music Theory. So this is an announcement for all you Music Theory people, if you didn't already know...and Milmel is in English with me! Yay!

july 9, 2004: *cue dramatic music* when good computers go bad

welcome to v.e.r.d.a.n.t. paradise

The reason for the heading today is that my computer, which used to be really great like 5 years ago and was like my best friend, has now turned on me. I want to scream: "I WANT A NEW COMPUTER. NOWWWW!!!" But my parents will be like, "You can't get one until you go to college." Which is sorta true since my brother has a really amazing one and he downloaded all sorts of things in college, like music, TV episodes and games. He can actually play PS2 games on his computer. I'm so jealous. Anyways, this computer, which is actually the "family" computer aka my mom's and mine, is starting to drag. It used to be pretty fast at downloading and uploading stuff online but now with all of the better graphics and 'niceness', it takes forever to do anything. Take now, for instance. I'm trying to put my Germany pictures online. Lemme quote from the website...

For a 400KB upload: 56K Modem-2 to 4 minutes, DSL-1 minute, T1-15 seconds.

Whoa, 15 seconds. I WISH. Well, then again, I'm putting huge pictures online and I will finish putting about 10 pictures out of 800 in...ONE HOUR AND 24 MINUTES. I'm giving up as soon as five are finished. Nah, I'll make it two. I'm a pretty impatient person. Grrr.

You know what? I think I want a laptop too. My dad has one, and it goes pretty fast. Not to mention it's all silvery and technological looking. In other words...a heck of a lot better than this crap computer I'm using right now. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not mad. Nonono, I'm just ranting about computers and how this one has become a traitor to me. That's it, nothing else, it's not like I'm going to take a sledgehammer to this, although it's pretty tempting right now...but... a) I don't have a sledgehammer and b) I'd be grounded for like the next 20 years. Hahaha.

YES! One picture is finally done...now I only have an hour and 16 minutes left! Wooo...All this typing isn't for nothing. I think I'll keep rambling until the next. Or I might stick with my original goal of five. Probably not though since my parents will be home soon from shopping. When that happens, I'll just cut this off short and tell you how the uploading ended.

All right. Time for rambling. Let's see...well, it's July. I haven't done anything too exciting this summer. Oh, yeah, I went out with my friends. I saw Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at the midnight showing. Then I slept over at Kristine's house and had donuts for breakfast. I also went downtown with Rachael to buy what she needed for her Boston trip. I've also hung out a lot with Crystal this summer. We were parade ambassadors at the Swedish Days parade. And we got to lug around this huge yellow bag filled with programs, and be mad at our competition Kelly Davis for stealing our street. Haha. Well, we weren't really mad, we were just like, "Oh. She's on our street." Hmmmm...I went shopping with Kari and Kristine at Charlestowne. And other stuff. Like babysitting and Quinton getting abused by little children. Can't forget that. *HE IS NOT MY CHILD* And giving violin lessons to the family in St.Charles/Elgin who live in one of the biggest houses I've ever seen. I step out of the car and I'm like..."Whoaaaaaa" because I crane my head up to see it.

Where are we at now....Okay, this is weird. The timer was at one minute, and I'm all happy for a second. Then I realize, how can it get 9 pictures in a minute if it takes like 15 just to get one? ... Then I notice the time got added onto. Now it's 3..no, make that 2, no, 6 MINUTES AND 48 SECONDS. And going up as I type. What's up with this????

Still reading this? Good. Stay with me. I'm calm. I can take this. GRRRRR! I just had a thought. What if it takes an hour per picture? No, that can't be, I'm just getting *paranoid* again like I was in 8th grade and I kept hearing voices in Mrs. Lee's class. Pat and anyone who sat within two seats of me can remember. No really, when someone says my name I turn around. It's scary. (12 minutes, 50 seconds) Try it. Say my name...okay, I'm probably looking at you...right...now. Just kidding. I think waiting for the pictures to upload is making me go crazy. I hate this computer. I think it's cursed. Bah. Okay, well, I give up. This is Kat aka Leenleen (according to Rae) saying bye. ^_^

Okay. Done.

PS Kristine is a stalker

july 7, 2004: scholastic bowlness!

welcome to v.e.r.d.a.n.t. paradise

Yay! I finally had my t-shirt making shindig. It was loads of fun. Jennifer (Ennifijer), Amanda (Manda Anda), Ashley (Shlee), Pat (Pat) and Ross (Ross) came. Heehee. So Jennifer and Amanda came over around 12:30 ish and I showed them my fishies, the house, my new violin ^_^ and my room. I cleaned up my room, can you believe it? They both liked looking at all of the pictures I had, but I think the room they liked the best was Jenni's. The Ben Affleck posters had them entranced. Then we left to go over to Hobby Lobby. At first it was a little *eh* because we had to plan everything out, for example: Ennifijer wrote out all of the letters that we would need and we had to go and figure out how we would manage to get nine "E"s or 6 "S"s. Finally, we got everything planned out. Yay! The shirts were amazing...and to our luck, they were all 50% off so instead of having to shell out $7 for shirt (shudder) it was $3.50. Good deal, eh? So then we bought all of our things, and it amounted to about $45, I think. Next year we'll make shorts and flip-flops! ... We headed back to my house and Ashley was there! I showed her my violin and then we started to get everything ready. My mom got the iron out and we started to piece out the letters. A few mishaps occurred at first, like not having enough scissors (we got another one, thank goodness) and Ashley melting some of her letters. LOL ^_^ But we gradually learned...how to read directions...and we were fine. Ashley gave up on having Scholastic Bowl all the way across so now, all she has is a giant "S" and a tiny little B next to it. Very cute. Oh yes, and Pat showed up too, on his bike. He watched and commented on our t-shirt makings. Ashley left at 2:45, having finished off her shirt with marker. "I GAVE UP". Oh, Shlee. And then Jennifer, Amanda and I finished our fronts and made our amazing backs with these nice black letters that wouldn't melt. (We used silvery letters on the front) Mine says: "een!een!" And it's in a semi-circle. Right below it, straight, says: "JV Girls at Heart" And the heart was made with my red fabric marker. And lastly, in yet another semicircle, says: "MOP DA FLOOR!" But the exclamation point fell off. Oh well. I called Ross around 3:45 and we all talked to him, passing the phone around. Amanda (teehee) whispered to me that when Ennifijer was talking to Ross like they were going out-kinda voice. Lotsa laughs. So then Ross came over later. But before that, Amanda finished her shirt ("Manda-Anda!") and Jennifer gave her a ride back, and then came back later. Jennifer was trying to make the "B" on her "bowl" stick, but it wouldn't. Grrr. Pat finally had to leave, but Ross came a little later and passed Pat on his way over to my house. He commented on our shirts (I was wearing mine) and said that Jennifer should stick random letters on the front of her shirt, and we're like, "NO". So now he wants to make something with Pat for Scholastic Bowl. Whatever they do or don't do, it will NEVER match up with our awesome shirts that Shlee, me, Manda Anda and Ennifijer made! ...and then after Jennifer's shirt was made, I showed Ross my violin (see a pattern here?) and went upstairs. But not before commenting on the cannibal goldfishies. And I newly named all of the fishies except for Dumbo...Hypotenuse, Flabbergasted, Gumbo, Ross, and Kyle Junior. Heh heh. Then we played Texas Hold-Em in my room with poker chips until 5:00. Then Jennifer had to leave and she gave Ross a ride home. The end.

Ob yes, I also made dirt cups but Ross didn't get to have any cuz he didn't show up in time. So there.

My schedule is under the "school" section at left, if you're looking for it. Ummm...that's about it for today. Short update. Here are some polls for you...I'm thinking of making a section for it at right in the future. Wait 'til then!

july 4, 2004: *^* Fireworks! *^*

welcome to v.e.r.d.a.n.t. paradise

Today, friends of my parents were supposed to come over. But for some reason, they didn't. Actually, correction: My parents know the reason, I don't. Of course, when they taught me Chinese so long ago, they didn't teach me all of it. Not to mention that other dialect they know so whenever they're talking about me (which is obvious cuz they look pointedly at me) or have to discuss something private, they just HAVE to pick that particular dialect to speak in. Yes, my rant is done.

On a brighter note, it's the fourth of July. There will be lots of fireworks and loud noises tonight. I think people were practicing last night because I couldn't sleep because of the light and noise. Even when I covered my windows, occasional flashes of bright light would illuminate my room. And the BOOMs of course. Crystal asked if I could maybe come to Batavia High School with her and watch in the field but my mom said no. And to going to her house as well just to hang out. Sometimes I don't know whether to feel cursed or blessed with such protective, loving parents.
...

Schedules came yesterday for me. And other people, of course. My schedule can also be found on the "school related" link at left, but I'll put it up here for those of you who are website manuevering-impaired. Did I spell manuevering right? I don't think I did. Someone tell me how it's spelled and I'll put you up in the Hall of Infamy since right now, I'm too lazy to go grab a dictionary less than five feet away from me to look it up.

1. Personal Fitness (1st semester)/Health (2nd semester): This could be interesting. Although almost everyone else I know is taking health first semester, I wanted to take it second. I don't think it would be too hard, and I might as well get gym over with first. Not that I don't like it, it just makes me late for classes. Like Biology Honors last year. Some people argued that gym first semester would be colder, but I disagree. If this year is going to be anything like last, I don't want to be outside in the spring when it's all icky and cold and the weather changes way too much. I'd stick with old reliable late summer/fall sunniness.

2. Chemistry Honors: I know that Kari, Kristine and Caran have this class with me so far. Actually, anyone taking Chemistry Honors and AP Europe History will have those classes with me. It'll be fun. I can always ask my (now) junior and senior friends for help. Yay. Before school harassing! Yay!

3. AP Europe History aka "AP Euro": Lots of memorizing dates and people. At least that's what I've heard. But I've also heard that Mrs. Khaleiff (sp?) is an amazing teacher, so...tradeoff. Once again, those in Chemistry Honors will have this class with me too. Too bad that on the first day of finals, this will be the last class that I take. But hey, first semester I have gym so I figure I'll just get the final over for that in like 15 minutes and take the rest of the time to study. Meh.

4-5. English 2 Honors: English. Piece of cake. Plus, I hear that either Arnett or Thill's going to be the teacher. Or both, even. So...YAY! PS...Kristine is stalking me!

6-7. German 3: Hahahaha. German...Herr B...Hahahaha. This year, it's going to be combined with the German 4 class since there aren't enough people in that class. It will be wickedly fun in that class. Once again, Rachael, Kristine and I will be reunited. And I can always have my snack in this class even though lunch is next hour. Rachael and I have plans to sit behind Ross and bother him. Why? Cuz his hair was once pink. Dat's why.

8. Lunch: I think Kari and Caran also have this hour with me. I think. Either way, lunch is lunch. Although I'll miss bothering certain tables. Cough. Cough. Heh. And I can study/do homework for math too. Woo...

9. Algebra 2 Honors: Mr. Thomas says that he's going to make fun of me a lot this year. Is that good or bad? Heehee. I've heard mixed things about him, but he seemed like a nice enough guy at the state math competition thing. Kyle's profile last night said he was taking this class; so far, he's the only other person I know in this with me, but for sure, I know there will be other people. Well, duh. I mean, people as in friends. There, that's better.

10. Music Theory 1 (1st semester)/Music Theory 2 (2nd semester): JJ says that Mr. Frederick teaches this. Maybe Maxwell. Mr. Frederick's a cool guy though. He knows my fake sister, so all is well in the world. I think Sean Zolfo might be in this class and maybe Taylor, since they're both (as far as I know) taking Music Theory. I don't think this is a wildly popular class. Or is it...???? Ooooooo, unsolved mystery!

Well, that's about it. You can tag what classes you have, call me up, or email me if we haven't already been in contact. Spread the word too. I want to know what enemies, I mean friends, will be in which classes with me. Whoa, that last sentence sounds weird. Ignore it. So there you have it. My schedule as a sophomore. I wonder how Mrs. Kremers-Smith is taking my resignation from orchestra...*evil grin*...I can now make fun of orchestra even more cuz I'm not in it! YES. My life is complete.
