The Creation of the World
>
And in the Beginning, there were two: the Light and the Dark.
They were the Queen and King, and All-That-Is/Was/Willbe was their Kingdom. And after a time* of playing in the Gardens of the Kingdom**, Light bore Dark a girl-child, and the Lahayota call her Naapi. Naapi often played in the Gardens of All-That-Is/Was/Willbe, and She grew, and She saw and learned much. When She reached the peak of Her Mighty Powers, She felt the desire to create a World, even as Her Mother Light created the stars. But Naapi knew Her World must be special, a Rose in the Gardens, or Her Work would be wasted. Like a female even now creates Life from her body, so did Naapi take of Her Flesh to shape the World; and from Her Wound Blood dripped, and it spashed upon the newly made earth, and flowed to create Oceans, Lakes, Rivers, and Seas. From Her Eyes, rolled Tears of Pain (the first pain in the Kingdom), and they also fell upon the World, and because of this rich offering plants spouted and grew bountiful. And at last Naapi looked upon Her World, and She saw that there a great many things missing. So again Naapi took of Her Flesh, but wove it differently, and thus formed the humans, centaurs, one-horns, dogs, and lesser falcons. And again She took of Her Blood, and with it formed the Dragons, Sphinxes, Griffens, mer-folk, and dolphins. Then Naapi took of the Air, Her Breath, and with it formed the elves, sprites, winged horses, and stripe cats. And Naapi looked at Her World again, and was not satisfied, but She did not know what to do. So She went into Dreamland, a sacred place in the Kingdom belonging only to the Goddess, and contemplated the Creation of the World. When She emerged Seven Days later, She knew what She was to do. So at last, Naapi took of the Fire of Her Soul, and thus formed the Lahayota, Raynyaafliya, Wokencait, Delaamafliya, and the Quilax. When She was done, She leaned back into the Gardens and smiled down upon Her Handiwork.
Such was the Creation of the World.
*- There was really no true time in the Gardens, but it is easier to explain than going into too much detail.
**- The Gardens are what we'd call the Milky Way.
