Knighthood
Thorn, the Dragon-Prince-- [Quality: Wisdom. Downfall: Pride.]Younger brother of Alexander the Gothic Sword, King Richard's most loyal knight which left OrinsKeep in humilation shortly after the Revolution. Thorn is gifted with the extrodinary talent of being able to telepahically communicate with dragons, which sometimes turns out to be quite a useful ability. He tries to stay calm in tense situations, but quickly loses patience with those he feels are not owning up to their responsiblities, and can have quite a temper when provoked enough.

Falcon CloudSweeper-- [Quality: Strength. Downfall: Cruelty.] Both Falcon and his younger brother Fennick were born and raised in the great deserts far to the east of OrinsKeep by a nomadic people, and neither speaks much of their life before they met Thorn and became the first new members of the knighthood. Falcon is impatient and sarcastic; he was made bitter by some loss earlier in life, though none but Fennick know of this. He can have an explosive temper, and has a tendency for sadism and pointless violence; he hates these traits within himself, and fears that they will someday spell his doom. He stays aloof from most other people, terrified that he will hurt them or that he will be hurt again, though maintains a semblence of indifference toward everything. He is very protective of his brother, yet is disgusted by most of the things Fennick does and claims that he brings shame to their family. Falcon is best described as a maverick or rogue.

Fennick SunDance-- [Quality: Confidence. Downfall: Foolhardiness.] Fennick... ah, Fennick. *grins* Fennick is very much unlike his brother. He is restless, reckless, energetic, flamboyant and flirtatious; Fennick loves nothing better than a night out on the town drinking, gambling, and generally wreaking havoc. He has an irrepressible sense of humor, and loves to tease/torment everyone around him. Impulsive and headstrong, he probably would have died quite young if not for Falcon's interference. His love for Kendel started as (and still strongly contains elements of) admiration and almost awe for something untouchable and almost unreal, though the others do not understand in the least what keeps Kendel with this fiery "Little Fox". Fennick is darker haired and skinned than Falcon, with mischivious bright green eyes. He is a skilled knife-fighter and thrower; though he often appears unarmed, he never is.

Kendel Trent-- [Quality: Honor. Downfall: Stagnation.] Kendel was the chosen as the last disciple of an ancient secret order. He was well trained in fighting and in the code of the old ways, to defend every living thing. He is very serious, truthful, and will fulfill every vow he has made... including avenging his master's murder, which was a major cause for his joining the knighthood. He carries his dead master's sword, a superb weapon which has saved this almost too-beautiful young warrior many times. Kendel has long, long blonde hair drawn into either a ponytail or braid, and stunning glass-blue eyes; lithe and graceful as a cat, he is lightning-quick in battle and usually emerges unscathed from any encounter. He almost hated Fennick when they first met, but gradually Kendel began to admire his restless energy and zeal for life, though it wasn't until one night of drunken revelry that Fennick's deepest fantasies were realized. Kendel is still rather uneasy about the implications of this relationship.

Randall-- [Quality: Mercy. Downfall: Weakness.] Randall is Bayolin's ex-apprentice, thought there isn't much of an age gap between them. With his tussled auburn hair and green eyes, he is favored by the ladies, and cuts quite a dashing figure when disreputably slicing through the female half of the upper class. He often occompanies Fennick on his trips to the bar, and has saved his bacon in several nasty barfights. He is noted for his smooth, melodic voice, and was being trained as the Royal Bard before the Revolution, but during that rough time he had to learn to fight or be killed. He spent a year after that as a mercenary soldier, but this rough life didn't suit his easy-going, luxury-loving lifestyle, and was mostly living on charity when picked up by Thorn.

Bayolin the Wolf-- [Quality: Courage. Downfall: Self-sacrificing.] The oldest of the seven, he was a knight of the court for all of the reign of King Richard, and took place fighting for his son in the Revolution alongside Alexander the Gothic Sword. Bayolin is completely calm; little or nothing (including Falcon's biting remarks) can move him into a display of temper. He has a tendency to think slower but more thoroughly about things than his younger friends; he often talks and moves slower too- except in battle. Steady and solid, Bayolin is the most reliable and is quite trust-worthy. He is a taller man, heavily built, with dark grizzled hair and beard.

Jonathan-- [Quality: Virtue. Downfall: Cowardice.] Jonathan is the "hero" of the story, if just one has to be singled out. Young and naive about the world, Jonathan was raised by his mother in the forest outside of OrinsKeep, and was taught basic swordplay by a retired soldier turned woodsman unbeknowthest to his mother. She sent him into OrinsKeep one day to do some shopping, and through a crazed hodge-podge of events, he managed to catch Bayolin's attention and thus was inducted into the knighthood that evening. He does not yet know what he is doing there, or what purpose he serves, but none the less stays true to himself and manages to come out on top.
