Song of the Ages (cont.)

The world spun,

            Spun so fast,

                        But time passes so slow.

Through the lush gardens,

            Through Lumuria,

We are.

You are my friend,

Viciously playful,

Cunningly kind.

You are a fighter, strong, full of life,

Lusty and savage, occasionally cruel, but

Willing to dance with the callow strife

Of cold reality.     A fox-fire beauty;

Eyes that gleam like the edge of a knife

And show no fear of any finality

Like a predator’s in the winter moonlight.

Through the lush gardens,

            Through Atlantis,

We are.

I am a Dreamer,

            Soft-spun

                        A star-gazer.

I hear a different drummer far and away

And his beat entices my blood.

I march to that music on a new path today

Without thought     to the path of tomorrow.

I know this is dangerous; I know I will pay

For this freedom for which I never fought.

I know, so I revel in my stolen rights.

We are now, my love.

For you are my only; we have always known love,

Inseparable even by death, we returned.

And even the gods rage at our rebirths.

They tried to keep me lonely,

And tried to keep you wild.

They failed, my love, and so do their threats…

Life is eternal,

            Love is immortal,

And Death is only a horizon…
