Joseph Marshall (Reference # 272) was born 3 April 1733 at Billerica or Chelmsford, Middlesex Co., MA and died 27 January 1805 at East Weare, Hillsborough Co., NH. His occupation was that of farmer and he was buried at Weare Center, NH. He served in the American Revolutionary War, participating 19 April 1775 in the first battle fought at Lexington and Concord, MA and later at Bunker Hill and Bennington. He resided at Chelmsford, MA in 1775 and removed to Weare, NH in 1776. He married Suzanna Walker (Reference # 273) 24 June 1766 at Chelmsford, Middlesex Co., MA. They had at least one child:

Generation 2

Rufus Marshall (Reference # 136) was born 30 January 1775 at Chelmsford, Middlesex Co., MA and died 11 September 1829 at Lempster, Sullivan Co., NH. He married Susannah George (Reference # 137). She was born 11 November 1774 at Weare, Hillsborough Co., NH and died 23 September 1829 at Lempster, Sullivan Co., NH. Both are buried at East Lempster, NH and have a double headstone. They removed from Weare, NH to Bradford, NH where they resided in 1820 and removed to Lempster, NH a few years before death. They had the following children:

Generation 3

Joseph Marshall (Reference # 68) was born 21 June 1809 at Weare, Hillsborough Co., NH and died 22 June 1895 at Lempster, Sullivan Co., NH. He resided at Bradford, Goshen and Lempster, NH and was a Tanner. He married Rachel or Sally Orne (Reference # 69) 7 December 1837. She was born 28 July 1810 and died 13 September 1853 at Lempster, Sullivan Co., NH. He married second to Susan J. Baker of Goshen, NH. She was born 30 July 1814 and died 19 June 1871. He married third to Harriet N., surname unknown, of Hillsboro, NH. She was born 17 March 1817 and died May 1900. He is buried along with his first two wives in East Lempster, NH.

Corp. Harlan Paige Marshall (Reference # 34) was born 25 September 1839 at Lempster, Sullivan Co., NH and died 15 July 1868 at Lansing or Austin, Mower Co., MN. He served in the 14th New Hampshire Reg. of Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. He mustered in at Charlestown, NH 1862 and was discharged at Savannah, GA 8 July 1865. He removed to Lansing, MN and is buried at Austin, MN. He married Eliza Jane Thisselle (Reference # 35) 28 December 1865 at Lansing, Mower Co., MN. She was born 23 May 1842 at Amherst, Hillsborough Co., NH (in the same house Horace Greely was born in) and died 29 July 1921 at Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN. She removed to Minneapolis c1868 after the death of her husband and was a dressmaker there. For further information on her ancestry see the Thisselle Family. They had one child:
  1. Ada Attiline Marshall

Generation 5

Ada Attiline Marshall (Reference # 17) was born 18 January 1867 at Lansing, Mower Co., MN and died 4 August 1955 at Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN. She married William Orcutt Frost (Reference # 16) 18 November 1891 at Central Baptist Church, Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN. He was born 5 August 1867 at Longmeadow (now East Longmeadow), Hampden Co., MA and died 4 August 1944 at Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN. For information on his ancestry see the Frost Family.
