Prentice Family


Generation 1

Valentine Prentice was born c1598 at Essex, England and died 1633 at Roxbury (now in Suffolk Co.), MA.  He immigrated to Massachusetts in 1631 and was admitted freeman in 1632.  He married Alice Bredda.  She married second 3 April 1634 to John Watson (1592-1672).  Valentine Prentice and Alice Bredda had at least one child:
  1. John Valentine Prentice

Generation 2

John Valentine Prentice was born 6 May 1628 at Chelmsford, Essex, England and died 1691 at New London, New London Co., CT.  He married first 5 May 1680 to Esther Nichols at Stratford, Fairfield Co., CT.  She was born 1635 and died 6 January 1679/80 at New London, New London Co., CT.  For information on her parents see the Nichols Family.  He married second 19 June 1695 to Rebecca Parker.  John Valentine Prentice and Esther Nichols had at least one child:
  1. Esther/Hester Prentice

Generation 3

Esther/Hester Prentice was born 20 July 1660 at Roxbury, Suffolk Co., MA and died 17 May 1751 at Stonington, New London Co., CT.  She married c1682 to BenAdam Gallup I at CT.  He was born 1655 at Stonington (now in New London Co.), CT and died 2 August 1727 at Stonington, New London Co., CT.  For information on his ancestry see the Gallup Family.  They had the following children:
