Generation 2

John Tilley was born c19 December 1571 at Henlow, Bedfordshire, England and died between 11 January - 10 April 1621 at Plymouth, Plymouth Colony (now Plymouth Co., MA.)  He married Joan Hurst 20 September 1596 at Henlow, Bedfordshire, England.  He did not marry Elizabeth Comyngs or Bridget van der Velde.  Joan Hurst was born c13 March 1567/8 at Henlow, Bedfordshire, England and died between 11 January - 10 April 1621 at Plymouth, Plymouth Colony (now Plymouth Co., MA).  For information on her parents see the Mayflower Web Page or Paul B. McBride's Genealogy Page.  She had married first to Thomas Rogers.  John and Joan Tilley were passengers on the Mayflower and John was a signer of the Mayflower Compact.  The only child to accompany them on the Mayflower was their youngest child Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Tilley was born c30 August 1607 at Henlow, Bedfordshire, England and died 21 December 1687 in the part of Swansea, Bristol Co., MA that is now located in East Providence, RI.  She married John Howland c25 March 1623 at Plymouth, Plymouth Colony (now Plymouth Co., MA).  He was born 1592 at Fen Stanton, Huntingdonshire, England and died 23 February 1672/3 at Rocky Nook Farm, Plymouth (now Kingston), Plymouth Colony (now Plymouth Co., MA).  For further information see the Howland Family.  Elizabeth Tilley and John Howland were both passengers aboard the Mayflower.  They had the following children:
